DEDaT participates in the Annual Stakeholders Forum 2016

The Annual Stakeholder Forum hosted by SEDA took place on 7 October 2016 at the MIttah Seperepere Convention Centre in Kimberley. Attending the event was the CEO of SEDA, Ms Mandisa Tshikwatamba, Chairperson of the Board, Dr Ivor Zwane, MEC for Finance, Economic Development and Tourism, Mac Jack and Minister of Small Business Development, Ms Lindiwe Zulu.

The Small Business Enterprise Development Agency (SEDA) is an agency of the Department of Small Business Development. It is mandated to implement government’s Small Business Strategy: design and implement a standard and common national delivery network for small enterprise development and integrate government small enterprise support agencies across all tiers of government. As part of the programme, two ladies, one with a successful business in the motorindustry and the other who has a successful business in the property industry, presented their stories to the guests on how SEDA  assisted them in making a success of their businesses. MEC Mack Jack commended the women on their achievement. He was especially proud of the lady who took a huge risk by taking her retirement package to start a business within the motor industry, which is a male dominated industry. MEC Jack further congratulated other people as well who came from different provinces for establishing successful businesses.Minister Lindiwe Zulu also praised the two women and all the other award winners of the day. She expressed sincere happiness and elation to see women owning successful businesses. Minister Zulu commended SEDA on a job well done in assisting business people. Ms Zulu further encouraged black people to engage in businesses and to endure to make a success out of it and added that SEDA does not only support black people, it supports all races in general.SEDA praised the business men and women, by means of certificates of appreciation, for growing their businesses which subsequently helps in curbing the unemployment rate in the country.
