Executive Council Outreach

Putting people first…

Provincial Government under the leadership of the Premier held an Executive Council Outreach program in the John Taolo Gaetsewe District from 25-27 October 2016.  

The aim of these initiatives is to strengthen intergovernmental relations and improve the capacity of government to implement service delivery programmes. 

The programme started at the Van Zylsrus Primary School where Premier Sylvia Lucas donated sanitary towels to 200 learners. Premier Lucas encouraged the learners to take their education seriously as education is the main key to success.

DEDaT joined NCPT at the Kopanang Pre School in Dithakong, which accommodates 21 learners.  Donations in the form of furniture and other household items were handed over by the Acting HOD of Treasury, Mr H Gumbo. Mr Gumbo commended the teachers for doing their jobs well and encouraged them to continue in this vein. 

Sedibeng Primary School was visited also and DEDaT & NCPT were joined by the leadership and officials from the Department of Sports Arts and Culture and the Department of Education.  DEDaT handed over sanitary products to the school.  MEC of Education, Martha Bartlett shared words of inspiration and encouragement with the learners and the teachers.

Budget allocation and implementation plans for the Department financial year 2017/18 amounts to R296.518 million. This is an increase of R18, 603 million and therefore 6,7 per cent in nominal terms.
